I've always avoided credit cards because I hate having debt. I've been lucky enough to never have my personal info stolen. But when my wife's birthday came up, I wanted to get her something special. I applied for a loan, but it got rejected. That was weird because even though I don't have much credit history, the report showed a bunch of overdue accounts.
